H.E. Major Gen. (R) L.K.J.C. Perera, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka and the staff of the High Commission organized a vesak festival in the Buddhist Temple at the International Buddhist centre in diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad on the full moon poya day on 21stÂÂÂ May 2016 with the participation of Sri Lankan community in Islamabad and Punjab.
The event started with the “Buddha pooja” ceremony and followed by Chanting of “Pirith” The representative from all Buddhist countries including Thailand, Myanmar, India, Indonesia and Vietnam also participated together with their Families.
The temple was decorated with Lanterns and illuminated with colorful lights which were attractive among the visitors.
