The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai ceremonially celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on 08 April 2024 at the Mission premises.
The invitees included members from the Sri Lankan Airlines in Mumbai, Sri Lankan Navy Officers training in the Mumbai region and members of the Sri Lankan community in Mumbai.
The celebration began with a Buddhist religious observance by Rev. Kohilawatte Lankananda Thero from the Bahujana Vihar Trust blessing everyone for the year ahead.
The religious ceremony was followed by a Sri Lankan lunch for all the guests.
The celebrations concluded with guests participating in traditional Avrudhu Games.
