Alva Pulle Vijendrakumar alias Sun Master who was evading arrest after the recent incident in the North where signatures were being obtained onto blank forms from the families affected by the conflict for the OHCHR investigation on Sri Lanka (OISL), has fled the country.
Earlier, law enforcement officials in the North detained on suspicion Sinnathamby Krishnarasa, a former LTTE cadre who had not undergone rehabilitation.
They later found blank forms with him containing signatures of conflict affected persons who had been promised compensations by the UN in exchange for their signatures and copies of National Identity Cards and death certificates. The Government had accused the TNA of having links with Sun Master but the TNA had rejected the allegations.
Sources said that on Friday morning Sun Master had managed to sneak past the authorities and it is suspected that he had boarded a fishing vessel from Negombo and escaped to Tamil Nadu in India.
“Had he been arrested he would have revealed many details of who might have initiated the whole plan to obtain signatures on blank forms to discredit the Government and the security forces. However his arrest is a grave threat to national security, and the Government should perhaps ask India to apprehend and deport him,” sources said.
