The Grassi Ethnological Museum in Leipzig inaugurated a photographic Exhibition named “Sri Lankas Lächeln” – Sri Lanka’s smile – on 23rd May 2014, while will held until 23rd August 2014. The Exhibition consists of photographs taken by the renowned German Photographer Knut Stritzke and shows a series of portraits and landscape impressions of Sri Lanka.
Photographer Knut Stritzke travelled with his camera across Sri Lanka in 2007 and captured photographs in his own unique style, using ordinary people and nature as his subjects. For Knut Strizke, Sri Lanka was “an incredibly intense experience, a country of friendliness, where I travelled with an open mind, and the truth was captured at the right time and moment on my camera”, as the artist recalled in his address at the exhibition.
The exhibition was organized with the support of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin, and Ambassador of Sri Lanka for Germany, Sarrath Kongahage, inaugurated the exhibition.
