Sri Lanka’s Ambassador Designate to Jordan assumes duties

Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Shanika Dissanayake assumed duties at the Sri Lanka Embassy in Jordan on 06 October 2019.

Addressing the Embassy Staff upon assumption of duties, Ambassador designate Dissanayake emphasized on the strong multifaceted bilateral ties that exist between Sri Lanka and Jordan and stressed on the importance of forging even closer ties and re-invigorating trade and investment. She also observed the importance of working as a team and ensuring the welfare of all Sri Lankans in Jordan as a priority of the Mission.

Prior to assumption of duties the Ambassador designate and staff of the Mission took part in religious observances.

With 22 years in the Sri Lanka Foreign Service having served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and in Sri Lanka Missions overseas, Ambassador designate Dissanayake had served as Director General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka prior to taking up her assignment in Jordan.
