Ambassador Shani Calyaneratne Karunaratne, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Defence of Lebanon Elias Nicolas BouSaab on 11 October 2019 at the Ministry of Defense, Lebanon.
They discussed about the Sri Lankan migrant worker statistics, their legal status and their security in Lebanon.
In response Ambassador explained the present status of migrant workers and the importance of registering them.
Ambassador also discussed about the status of Sri Lankan contingency of United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Peace Keepers.
Second Secretary (Labour) of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Lebanon T.Luxmidharan Executive Assistants Major General Georges Shreim and Micheline Zaarour from the Ministry were present at the meeting.
