Sri Lanka Mission in Singapore organizes Vesak day ‘’Sangika Dana’’

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore commemorated Vesak day by organizing the annual “Sangikadana” at the High Commissioner’s official residence on the 19^th May, 2014.

The religious ceremony commenced with the administration of Pansil (the Five Precepts) by Ven. Dr. Galle Uditha Nayaka Thero of the Buddha Vihara Society. This was followed by offering of Buddha Pooja by Ven. Rathanananda Nayaka Thero of the Lankaramaya Buddhist Temple. Ven. Dr Pathegama Gnanarama Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the Thisarana Buddhist Association together with 20 monks present invoked blessings by chanting Pirith.

Members of the Sri Lankan expatriate community and the staff of the High Commission attended the event.
