High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in South Africa, Kumar Mallimaratchi met and congratulated the Sri Lanka Cricket Team in Port Elizabeth on 23 February 2019. Sri Lanka recorded its first series win on the South African Soil, beating South Africa by Eight wickets in the second test at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth last Saturday.
With this historic victory, Sri Lanka became the first Asian Team to win a test series in South Africa. Previously, only England and Australia have defeated South Africa in South Africa.
The High Commissioner wished the team strength and courage to perform well in the upcoming ODIs and the T20 series in March against South Africa.
Mrs. Udeni Mallimaratchi and family also joined High Commissioner Mallimaratchi on this occasion.
