The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Iran, in association with the Sri Lanka Tea Board and the Tehran-based business community, successfully conducted a Ceylon Tea and Trade Exhibition at its chancery premises in Tehran from 04-06 February 2023. A large number of participants representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic corps, Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture, Association of Tea Producers, traders & packing industry and agricultural and food products importing companies in Iran visited the exhibition.
Assistant Minister of West Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran Dr. Seyed Rasoul Mousavi opened the exhibition. He stated that the organizing of regular trade events focusing on the business community and general public in Iran is more productive as it expands trade relations between the two countries. Sub-events of the exhibition included meetings with key potential Iranian importers of Sri Lankan products, a tea session, discussions with senior officials of the Iranian government and the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture.
On the final day of the Sri Lanka Exhibition, a reception with Sri Lankan delicacies and Ceylon tea was arranged by the Embassy for the visitors. All visitors were presented with Ceylon tea gift packs and tokens.
