The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beirut in collaboration with Sri Lankan Associations in Lebanon and members of the expatriate Sri Lankan community successfully organized a “Bak Maha Ulela” in Beirut on 14 April 2024.
The event commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Lebanon Kapila Jayaweera and community members. This was followed by a series of multi-cultural “Avurudu” traditional events. Around one thousand Sri Lankans attended the event and enjoyed New Year games and musical performances.
