SRI LANKA CONSULATE PARTICIPATES IN THE WORLD TRADE EXPO 2018 IN MUMBAI

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai participated in the World Trade Expo (WTE) 2018, organised by the World Trade Centre Mumbai (WTC) and the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) from 29-30 October 2018.

The Sri Lanka stall at the WTE 2018 displayed Ceylon tea from the ‘Basilur Tea’ product range and, featured Sri Lanka’s tourist attractions through promotional vedios, posters and tourism brochures.

‘Basilur Tea’, which is a popular Ceylon tea brand in India, offers 70 plus different naturally flavoured green and black premium Ceylon teas. ‘Basilur Tea’ which currently caters to leading hotels in India including Taj, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Radisson, JW Marriott, Renaissance, Ramada and Westin also serves the corporate sector.

Indian Minister of Tourism Jayakumar J. Rawal who was the Chief Guest at the WTE 2018 visited the Sri Lanka stall with other distinguished invitees. The guests praised the Sri Lanka stall by referring to the fact that Sri Lanka being named the top destination to travel in 2019 by Lonely Planet.

The WTE 2018 was attended by 28 Consulates, over 90 manufacturers from different States and many visitors from the Western Region of India.
