Sri Lanka was represented at the ‘Tour Salon 2011’, held in Poznan from 19 – 22 October 2011. Representative of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau along with 6 companies viz Hayleys Tours, Jetwing Travels, Aitken Spence Travels, Exotic Vacations (Pvt) Ltd, NKAR Travels & Tours (Pvt) Ltd and Sri Lanka Express participated in the ‘Tour Salon 2011’. This year ‘Tour Salon', which is an annual event attracted 760 exhibitors from 40 countries and over 30,000 guests.
The Sri Lankan Stand at the ‘Tour Salon 2011’ was inaugurated by Ambassador Pamela J. Deen, Sri Lanka’s envoy to Poland. She was received by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau’s representative Mr. Viranga Bandara and other participants of the tourism trade. At the inauguration of the ‘Tour Salon 2011’, Ambassador, Deen met with the Undersecretary of State (Deputy Minister) of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Poland, Mrs. Katarzyna Sobierajska, who inaugurated the ‘Tour Salon 2011’. The Ambassador invited the Deputy Minister to visit the Sri Lanka Stand as Sri Lanka was taking part in the exhibition for the first time. Appreciating Sri Lanka’s participation, Deputy Minister accepted her invitation and visited the Sri Lanka Stand on October 20, where she was able to taste a cup of Sri Lankan tea. Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Mr. Viranga Bandara presented the Deputy Minister with a souvenir from Sri Lanka.
