This very popular event where about 150 nations were represented with their stalls and which was visited by more than 50.000 people, was coordinated by Mr. Namal Wijeyamuni Zoysa, Second Secretary of this Mission,.
The Bazaar started with a soft opening of the National Goods Stalls on Friday evening. This soft opening was attended by staff members of United Nations as well as Austrians.
At the food stall, more than 500 rations of delicious Sri Lankan specialities, provided by members of the Community, where served by Embassy Staff and Community Members to the gathering. Also Sri Lankan Tea was served to the visitors of the Bazaar.
On the first floor of the hall, the Embassy operated the National Goods Stall. There, tea, jewellery and decorative carving were exhibited and sold to the public. People were attracted by the exhibited items, and already by 04 p.m., the stall staff had to flag “Sold- out!”.
Visitors of the bazaar were specially attracted by the large variety of tea, especially loose tea, for which Sri Lanka is the bench mark.
