A Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebration successfully organized by the Sri Lanka High Commission in Kenya, was held on the 20 April 2025 at the Gowan Club in Mombasa. It was the third consecutive year this event was hosted by the Honorary Consul and the Sri Lankan Community in Kenya.
Over 200 people gathered to celebrate Sri Lanka’s vibrant heritage with traditional games, music, dance performances, and authentic cuisine. The event was filled with joy and cultural pride, uniting Sri Lankans of all walks of life and warmly welcoming the Kenyan friends.
The event was further strengthened by the presence of dignitaries and the active involvement of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Kenya, which continues to play a vital role in fostering engagement with the Sri Lankan community.
The annual event served as a platform for younger generations to reconnect with their roots.
