Renowned Sri Lankan Pianist performs in Mumbai

Renowned Sri Lankan Pianist, Shani Diluka performed at the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation(MMMF) in Mumbai on 02 November 2018.

Shani Diluka who studied at the ‘Paris Conservatoire of Music and Dance’, was recently awarded an order of ‘Chevalier de I”Odre du Merite Culturel” by Prince Albert of Monaco for her contribution to music in Monaco and abroad.

She has won multiple awards for her solo recordings of Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schubert and Grieg during the past several years. Shani Diluka is a regular partner with renowned ensembles of ‘Ebony, Ysaye, Prazak, Modigliani and Belca Quartets’. She has been a guest soloist with many orchestras and has performed recitals at eminent concert halls in Europe,Japan and South America.

Her performance at the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation(MMMF), a Music Academy that promotes western classical music also included an interactive session with the students of the MMMF on Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” where she focused on its’true depth and meaning. A large number of students, teachers and music lovers attended the performance.

The Sri Lanka Consulate General in Mumbai facilitated the musical evening.
