The ever increasing number of Chinese tourists visiting Sri Lanka has prompted national carrier Sri Lankan Airlines to increase its direct flights to China with the addition of Kunming as Sri Lankan's fourth destination in China.
The airline's manager in charge of China, Dimuthu Tennakoon said the load factor in all flights out of China is well over 90% and this has resulted in the addition of another direct flight to the capital city of Yunnan Province from December 1.
“We are happy with the phenomenal growth in the Chinese tourism market to Sri Lanka with the high load factor and that has prompted the airline to add Kunming as our fourth direct destination in China,” Tennakoon told the Chinese media at the press briefing held in Kunming last week.
