Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York commences work for 2023

Staff of the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York commenced work for the New Year 2023 on Monday, 02 January 2023, at a brief ceremony held at the Mission premises.

The ceremony commenced with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by 2 minutes of silence to commemorate the fallen war heroes. The staff of the Mission together took the Oath of the Public Service.

Ambassador Mohan Pieris, joined the staff virtually, from Sri Lanka, and encouraged them to carry out the duties assigned to them efficiently in line with the policies and principles of the Government. The Ambassador, in accordance with the oath which has just been taken, urged the staff to work together to enable the Government to realize its policy priorities for 2023 and to serve with dedication towards the betterment of the nation.

The event concluded with the serving of light-refreshments and traditional Sri Lankan sweetmeats.
