The Consulate of Sri Lanka in Chengdu, South West China celebrated the 67th National Day on 4th February at Raffle City, Chengdu for the first time since its establishment in Sichuan Province.
Sri Lankan community members in Chengdu, predominantly medical students from Huaxi Medical College of Sichuan University actively took part in the event.
The Consulate presented the National Day Messages from H.E the President and the Hon. Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.
The Consul, Mr. B. Kandeepan in his welcome remarks stressed the importance of closer relations between community members and the Consulate and assured the audience of his fullest support and assistance.
Instrumental presentation of Sinhalese classical music and the authentic Sri Lankan cuisine added colour to the celebrations.
