A delegation of businessmen representing re‑insurance companies called on High Commissioner Fred Senevirathne on 10 February 2026 to explore opportunities for investment and business collaboration with the Sri Lankan business community.
High Commissioner Fred Senevirathne briefed the delegation on the current economic landscape in Sri Lanka, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen the business environment and promote foreign investment.
The discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation, including re‑insurance sector engagement, market opportunities, and avenues for bilateral commercial partnerships.
High Commissioner Senevirathne also extended a warm invitation to the delegation to participate in Sri Lanka Expo 2026, the flagship international trade and investment exhibition scheduled to be held from 18–21 June 2026 in Colombo. He explained that the Expo is expected to showcase Sri Lanka’s export capabilities, attract global buyers and investors, and serve as a platform for structured business‑to‑business interaction.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister and Head of Chancery of the High Commission.
