Media Release on the postponement of the State visit of the President of Afghanistan to Sri Lanka

The State visit of the President of Afghanistan H.E. Hamid Karzai to Sri Lanka from 23rd to 25th February 2014 has  been postponed due to an unforeseen security situation that has arisen in the Kunar province, requiring his presence in Afghanistan at this time.  The Government of Afghanistan has indicated  that the visit will be re-scheduled to a mutually convenient date in the near future.
