High Commissioner of the Maldives, Mohamed Thoha paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Rear Admiral (Rtd) Fred Senevirathne, on 04 December 2025 at the Official Residence of the High Commissioner.
During the meeting, both High Commissioners exchanged views on the longstanding friendship and strong bilateral ties between the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
High Commissioner Thoha expressed his sincere condolences on the devastation and loss of lives caused by the recent Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka.
High Commissioner Fred Senevirathne conveyed his appreciation to the High Commissioner Thoha for his kind sentiments and condolences, and especially to the Government and the people of the Maldives for their generous support and financial assistance extended to those who are affected in Sri Lanka.
Minister of the High Commission of Sri Lanka A. Christy Ruban and First Secretary of the Maldives High Commission, Aminath Zuhudha were also present at the meeting.
