High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in the United Kingdom Rohitha Bogollagama met with former President of the United Nations General Assembly and Former Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid on 15 July 2024 at the Sri Lanka House. Secretary-General of the International Communities Organisation (ICO) James Holmes also joined the meeting.
The meeting underscored the close relations between Sri Lanka and the Maldives, particularly during the tenures of the two dignitaries as foreign ministers. The discussions with Secretary General Holmes focused on enhancing relations with Sri Lankan diaspora through the ICO, with a view to strengthening connections and support networks for Sri Lankans living abroad.
