Symbolizing the generosity of Sri Lankan community, the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Kuala Lumpur successfully organized a sago “Dansala” in conjunction with the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day on 22 May 2024 at the Brickfields Buddhist Maha Vihara. This was the second time that this Dansala was organized by the High Commission.
Staff members of the High Commission took part in preparation of sago drink for this “Dansala”, which saw the participation of a large number of devotees and community members. The event was marked by the distribution of sago to 1,300 people, symbolizing the spirit of giving and compassion.
The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Kuala Lumpur extend heartfelt gratitude to the organizing committee of the Buddhist Maha Vihara and everyone who participated and supported the event, making it a memorable and meaningful celebration. The High Commission remains committed to foster cultural and religious traditions that bring Sri Lankan community together.
