Former Sri Lankan Cricket Captain Mahela Jayawardene Participates as Special Guest at 40th Anniversary of Oman Cricket

Sri Lanka’s Former Cricket Captain Mahela Jayawardene together with Former Indian Cricket Captain Anil Kumble participated as Special Guest at the celebrations of 40th Anniversary of Oman Cricket which was held on 23 September 2019 at Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Al Amerat, Oman.

Patron-in-Chief of Oman Cricket (OC) Sayyid Hitham bin Tareq Said presided over the event and Omani Minister of Sports Affairs, Sheikh Sad Bin Mohammed Al Saadi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Sultanate of Oman O.L. Ameer Ajwad also participated at the celebrations.

The Oman National Cricket team is coached by the Former Sri Lanka’s Cricket Captain, Duleep Mendis assisted by Sri Lanka’s Former Test player Ruwan Kalpage.  Oman has become the latest country to win ODI status from ICC and is currently ranked 15th in international cricket.
