The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beirut celebrated the 77th Independence Day on 05 February 2025.
Ambassador-Designate of Sri Lanka in Beirut, Kapila Jayaweera read-out the message of the President of Sri Lanka and addressed the gathering. In his speech, the Ambassador stated the importance of changing Sri Lanka towards a prosperous nation with unity and harmony at its core. Furthermore, the Ambassador appreciated the Sri Lankan community in Lebanon and their courage to stay in Lebanon despite the ongoing conflict situation. He also commended the Sri Lanka-Lebanon relations.
Approximately a hundred Sri Lankans attended the event.
