His Excellency Dr Chris Nonis , High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in the United Kingdom planted a tree on the 15 th November, to mark the National Tree Planting Programme at the premises where the official residence is being constructed.
Deputy High Commissioner and members of staff of the High Commission were also present.
The Ministry of Environment of Sri Lanka launched a programme called Deyata Sevana to plant 1.1m trees around the country.
