Earl Gunasekara, Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries visited Shanghai on a familiarization tour in early January organized by the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Shanghai on the request of Sri Lanka Tea Board.
During the visit the Minister met Secretary General of Shanghai Tea Trade Association and visited Shanghai’s first Starbucks style tea serving restaurant “MABROC Tea Rooms and traditional Chinese “tea rooms”.
During a meeting with the Vice Governor of Hunan Province, the Deputy Minister agreed that Sri Lanka could cooperate with the Hunan tea industry for mutual benefit.
