The Counter Terrorism Strategic Management Training Programme was held in Colombo from 04th to 15th March 2013 at the JAIC Hilton Colombo. The Sri Lanka Police conducted the Training Programme pursuant to a commitment made by the Sri Lanka Police at the 9th SAARC Conference on Cooperation in Police Matters held in Colombo, 4-5 April 2011.
The Course contents covered subject matter on Sri Lanka’s experience in combatting terrorism, life cycle of terrorism, role of Military Intelligence and Legal framework in counter terrorism. The series of lectures on these areas had been delivered by senior officials from the Armed Forces and retired Foreign Service Officers from Sri Lanka.
The Training Programme was a residential course that was well attended by mid level Police Officials/Law enforcement Officers from the SAARC Member States and the Programme was conducted successfully.
At the conclusion of the Training Course, certificates were awarded to the participants by the Inspector General of Police of Sri Lanka, Mr. N.K. Ilangakoon. The Secretary General of SAARC, H.E Ahmed Saleem who is currently visiting Sri Lanka will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest at the Graduation Ceremony.
