The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Guangzhou, along with Sri Lankan Airlines and Guangdong Sunshine Holiday International Travel Agency Co.LTD, participated in the China(Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Exposition(CITIE) which was organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province from 30-01 August 2019 in Guangzhou.
Sri Lanka booth which displayed pictures of prominent tourist destination and several handicrafts was a major attraction among many visitors who obtained information on Sri Lanka including travel guidance.
The staff of the Consulate clad in Sri Lankan traditional dress and the staff of Sri Lankan Airlines and Sunshine Travel Agency managed the Sri Lankan stall.
The CITIE has been successfully held every year since 2005. It is one of the largest professional fairs in China which is attended by a large number of local and international exhibitors and professional buyers. It is a specialized platform for sharing information, purchasing products and business development for tourism related exhibitors and buyers. More than 50 countries and regions as well as 20,000 professional buyers participated in this year’s fair, with over 500,000 visitors.
