The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Kuwait organized a Dhamma Deshana event virtually, on the occasion of the Vesak full moon poya day, at the Embassy premises on 26 May 2021.
Ven. Dehipe Chandawimala Thero, of the Wewalduwa Temple, Kelaniya, delivered Dhamma Deshana virtually at the event and invoked blessings of the Noble Triple Gems on all Sri Lankans, including those reside in Kuwait, for their health and happiness, amidst the COVID 19 pandemic.
Ven. Dehipe Chandawimala Thero also stated that the Covid-19 pandemic reminded the world of the impermanence and uncertainty of life and Ven Thero encounter participants of the event to reflect more deeply on the Buddhist way of life. Ven. Thero appreciated the commitment of the staff of the Embassy in organizing the religious event, despite the obstacles due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
The Embassy staff and their family members only were able to participate at the event, due to the restrictions imposed by the Kuwait Government in order to contain the COVID 19. The premises was decorated with Buddhist flags, clay lamps and colourful Vesak lanterns.
On behalf of staff, Ambassador Mohammed Jauhar extended his appreciation to the Ven. Thero and the Embassy staff for making the event possible for the benefit of the followers of Buddhism faith in a foreign country, through virtual means.
