The Embassy in The Hague celebrated Christmas with Carols on Saturday 19th December in keeping with the tradition to celebrate all major religious festivals at the Chancery premises.
Ambassador Grace Asirwatham while welcoming the guests emphasized the need to foster close friendship and trust amongst the communities to transform the hard-won military victory into lasting peace in the country.
Rev. Sjaak de Boer of the English Speaking International Roman Catholic Parish of The Hague, conducted the Christmas prayers to highlight the importance of Christmas and the New Year, as well as to invoke blessings upon the country. The staff of the Embassy together with the members of the Sri Lankan community in The Netherlands sang Christmas carols in all three languages.
