The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) will help enhance Sri Lanka's reputation internationally, Water Supply and Drainage Ministry Secretary Amarananda Abeygunasekara said.
"It will be a good platform to boost foreign investment and the country's tourism sector', he said.
"Delegations from over 50 countries will participate at the forthcoming CHOGM summit. Heads of State and dignitaries will also attend the summit. It will provide us a good opportunity to improve international relations," he explained. "The CHOGM would help develop good relations with each participating country," he said. "The government was able to eradicate 30 years of terrorism which is a major victory for the country. The government has initiated many development projects throughout the country and holding CHOGM would be a great impetus towards this," he added.
