The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in Sri Lanka in November will benefit all Sri Lankans including the people in the North, Tamil Buddhist Association President Ravi Kumar said.
He said CHOGM will boost the country's image and contribute to developing the economy.
Kumar said this would give a new lease to every aspect of life including education, culture, health businesses and investment.
He said the tourism industry will have a direct impact since government heads of 54 countries will participate in the CHOGM.
"With these leaders, thousands of their officials, staff and business community friends will visit the country.
As the world has accepted that Sri Lanka is a number one tourist destination in the world, the message by CHOGM participants about Sri Lanka will give a boost to the tourism industry in Sri Lanka," Kumar said.
He said government heads and other delegates should visit the North and experience the massive development in the North.
Kumar said if these delegates visit the North, they will be able to see all communities living as a united nation.
