Chairman NFCC Kim Im-kweon appointed as the new Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Busan, Republic of Korea

The Government of Sri Lanka appointed Kim Im-kweon as the new Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Busan with effect from 30 October 2017.  The Commission of Appointment issued by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka Tilak Marapana and the Exequatur issued by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Kang Kyung-wha were handed over to Kim Im-kwoen by Sri Lanka’s Ambassador in the Republic of Korea Manisha Gunasekera on Wednesday 8 November at the Sri Lanka Embassy in Seoul.

Kim Im-kweon is the Chairman of the Korean National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (NFFC), also known as Suhyup, and President of HyeSeung Fisheries Co., Ltd.  A graduate of Pukyong National University with specialisation in Marine Fisheries Business and Economics, Mr. Kim has longstanding relations with Sri Lanka in the fishery sector.  Mr. Kim takes over from the former Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Busan Shin Jungtaek who is CEO of Seun Steel Co., Ltd. in Busan.
