The Staff of the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Frankfurt am Main commenced work for the year 2020 with a special programme held on 02 January 2020.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag of Sri Lanka in the premises of the Mission by the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Frankfurt followed by the singing of the National Anthem of Sri Lanka, observed two minutes of silence to commemorate war heroes and all those who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the Motherland. The Oath of Public Servant was read aloud by the Consul General and the members of the staff.
In her brief address, Consul General Madurika Joseph Weninger extended her best wishes for the New Year and highlighted the necessity of working as a team to accomplish the Government’s vision to make the year 2020 the ‘Year of Prosperity’ and to ensure the prompt, honest and unwavering contribution of all members of the staff towards making the aspirations of the present and future generations a reality.
Sri Lankan food and tea were served at the conclusion of the programme.
