The celebration of the Independence Day and National Day commenced at the Residence of Sri Lanka Embassy on 04th February with the flag hoisting ceremony attended by a cross section of Korean and Sri Lankan distinguished personalities, representatives of Sri Lankan migrant workers and Sri Lankan students. New Delhi High Commission celebrates Independence and National Day

The grand Reception held at the High Commission in New Delhi to celebrate this year’s Independence and the National Day was attended by a cross section of distinguished personalities in New Delhi and the diplomatic community. Union Cabinet Minister of Human Resource Development of India, Kapil Sibal represented the Government of India as the Chief Guest. The event included a Cultural Show presented by Sri Lanka Navy Cultural Troupe and was embellished with authentic specialty Sri Lanka cuisine prepared by the two prominent chefs from Sri Lanka.

Independence celebrated in Kuwait in grand style

On the occasion of celebrating Sri Lanka’s 62nd National Day, an official ceremony was held at the chancery premises on 4th February morning with the participation of over 500 Sri Lankan nationals and well-wishers. As part of the celebrations, the Embassy also hosted a diplomatic reception for the Kuwaiti government leaders, officials, civil society, members of the diplomatic corps, media and members of the Sri Lankan community in Kuwait at a leading hotel.
