The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Kathmandu celebrated the 2558th Vesak celebrations (Buddha Poornima Festivities) on 15th May 2014 at the Embassy premises with the participation of Ven. Mahasangha of Buddhist temples in Kathmandu, the Sri Lankan community in Nepal, media personnel and other devotees.

Sri Lanka Confirms Commitment to Support the Integrated Better Air Quality Conference and the 8th EST Forum in Colombo
On 16th May 2014, the Government of Sri Lanka formalized its commitment to host and support the “Integrated Conference of Better Air Quality (BAQ) 2014 and Intergovernmental 8th Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) Forum in Asia” that will be held in Colombo in November this year. Hon. Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy and Hon. Rohana Kumara Dissanayake, Deputy Minister of Transport were in Manila for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the BAQ organizer, Clean Air Asia, represented by its Executive Director, Mr. Bjarne Pedersen.
