Ambassador Rodney Perera met Mr. David Arnold, the President of the Asia Foundation at the Embassy on June 26, 2019. Ms. Nancy Yuan, Senior Vice President & Director of the Asia Foundation was also present.
Mr. Arnold briefed Ambassador Perera on programmes conducted by the Asia Foundation in Sri Lanka starting in 1954 on urban governance; post-conflict development; projects on book donations and on Lanka-Corps Programme, an exclusive programme of providing opportunities for young professionals of Sri Lankan heritage to engage in social, cultural and economic activities in Sri Lanka.
While acknowledging the constructive engagement of the Asia Foundation in Sri Lanka, Ambassador Perera assured the assistance of the Embassy in Washington D.C. to the Asia Foundation in its endeavors in Sri Lanka.
