On 15 January 2026, the Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited in Poland were invited to the annual New Year Meeting hosted by the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, at the Presidential Palace. This traditional gathering is regarded as the opening event of Poland’s political and social calendar for the year.
During the ceremony, the Heads of Diplomatic Missions individually greeted the President. Among them, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Poland, Priyangika Dharmasena, conveyed best wishes for the New Year and expressed hopes for the further strengthening of bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Poland in the coming period.
The occasion featured an address by President Nawrocki, who welcomed the diplomatic community. His remarks were followed by a speech delivered by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Apostolic Nuncio to Poland, Antonio Guido Filipazzi.
