Ambassador Karunatilaka Amunugama presented his letter of Credence to the Federal President Joachim Gauck at his official residence the Scholss Bellevue in Berlin, today (2nd September 2014) as Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Ambassador Amunugama conveyed warm best wishes from President Mahinda Rajapaksa to President Joachim Gauck and Sri Lanka’s keen interest in strengthening bilateral relations.
Ambassador Amunugama briefed President Gauck on the socio-economic progress and political stability that has been achieved in the aftermath of the war against LTTE terrorism as well as on the initiatives taken by the Government on national reconciliation and nation building.
President Gauck extended his warm best wishes to President Rajapaksa and expressed his willingness to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
