On February 21, 2019 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka and Madame Sanja Jayatilleka paid a call on Senator Alexey Pushkov, a prominent Russian politician with PhD in History, Professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and the lead author of the information and analytical program Postscriptum, for which he received a Golden Feather pen Award from the Russian Union of journalists. Senator A. Pushkov was decorated with the Order of Honour for the major contribution to the development of the national television.
Ambassador Jayatilleka and Senator A. Pushkov had a substantive discussion on the changing world order and the current situation in the world policy as well as the last address of President Putin to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation performed on February 20, 2019 with reference to the international relations and foreign policy of the country.
