Ambassador Jayatilleka attends Trialogue Club joint discussion on multilateral security models in the new power struggle

On 15 October 2019 Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia accompanied by Madame Sanja Jayatilleka attended the joint discussion on the pressing topic of multilateral security models in the new power struggle.  The meeting was co-organized by the Trialogue Club International and the Embassy of Switzerland to Russia and was held in the Residence of the Ambassador of Switzerland in Moscow.

Director of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dr. Feodor Voytolovsky was leading the discussion and spoke about new strategic balance of economic, political and military powers and future of international world order.

The guests were welcomed by Swiss Defence Attache in Russia Col. Bruno Russia and the current Doyen for Military and Defence Attaches in the Russian Federation. Dr. Vladimir Orlov, Director of PIR Center, Head of the Center for Global Trends and International Organizations, Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Lieutenant-General Evgeny Buzhinskiy, Chairman of “Trialogue” Club International, Chairman of PIR Center Executive Board addressed the audience with introductory remarks on key developments in the current international agenda.

During Q&A Session Ambassador Jayatilleka posed questions to Dr. Voytolovsky on US- Russia and US-China relations and methodology used for forecasting and system analyses. Ambassador of India to Russia, D Bala Venkatesh Varma, and Defence Attache of Germany participated in the conclusion discussion.

The official part of the meeting was followed by informal luncheon discussion on the trends in global political and economic dynamics, growing interdependence and competitiveness.
