Ambassador Admiral (Rtd.) Wasantha Karannagoda recently called on Admiral Masahiko Sugimoto, The Chief of Staff of the Japan Maritime Self Defence Force at his office in the Ministry of Defence.
The two Admirals exchanged views on matters concerning regional security of sea lanes of communication, piracy in the Indian Ocean, especially off the waters of Somalia.
They also shared views on similar experiences faced by both countries in sharing the same brine water.
