The Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Australia, Wishwanath Aponsu, received the Mayor of Colombo, Vraie Cally Balthazaar, upon her arrival at Canberra Airport on 23 March 2026.
The Mayor is visiting Australia from 21 to 30 March 2026 under the Special Visits Program of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The visit includes engagements with government counterparts, local authorities and policy institutions in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney.
