The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Maldives M. Rizvi Hassen met with the Chancellor Dr. Mahamood Shougee and the senior management of the Maldives National University (MNU) on 09 November 2025 to discuss potential collaborations between MNU and Sri Lankan universities and higher education institutes.
The discussions entailed initiating MoUs to conduct academic exchanges, joint researches, joint symposiums and joint publications with Sri Lankan institutes for the mutual benefit of the higher education sectors of the two countries.
The MNU is the oldest and largest university in the Maldives with a number of 15000 students currently following studies.
