
The newly appointed Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Southern India, Dr. Ganesanathan Geathiswaran paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Tamil Nadu, R. N. Ravi at Raj Bhavan on 24.10.2025.
The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and focused on strengthening cooperation between Sri Lanka and India, particularly exploring opportunities in the fields of education, industry, and healthcare.
During the discussion, the Deputy High Commissioner briefed the Governor on Sri Lanka’s recent positive developments under the new government and expressed his commitment to promoting investment and trade linkages, while also encouraging academic collaborations between educational institutions of both countries.
The Governor reiterated the longstanding and friendly relations between India and Sri Lanka and noted the vast potential for further collaboration. He highlighted the educational and industrial strengths of Tamil Nadu and other southern states, emphasizing opportunities in the medical sector, especially medical equipment manufacturing, where India’s private sector has demonstrated remarkable progress and areas from which Sri Lanka could also benefit.
Following the discussion, the Deputy High Commissioner signed the Guest Book at the Governor’s Office.
