Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta Successfully Hosts ‘Business Networking Session’ to Promote Port City Colombo

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta successfully organized and hosted an exclusive Business Networking Session at the Embassy premises on 5 August 2025, with the aim of promoting investment opportunities available in Port City Colombo.

A three-member delegation from CHEC Port City Colombo arrived in Indonesia on 4 August 2025 to participate in DTI-CX 2025 – Digital Transformation Indonesia Conference & Expo, scheduled to be held from 6 to 7 August 2025. During their visit, the Embassy also facilitated meetings with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara Indonesia), to provide updates on the current status of the Port City project and explore potential avenues for investment collaboration.

Welcoming the Sri Lankan delegations to the event, Chargé d’ Affaires (a.i.) Nilanthi K. Pelawaththage encouraged all delegations to foster fruitful partnerships with Indonesia through the discussions and engagements initiated during the meetings and the business networking session.

The Business Networking Session was attended by approximately 30 potential investors from both Sri Lanka and Indonesia, including the President Director of Pertamina Transcontinental Indonesia, a leading company in the energy sector, specializing in shipping, marine services, and logistics.

A business delegation from Hayleys Aventura and BoardPAC Sri Lanka, who are currently undertaking a business mission to Indonesia, also took part in the session.

The event concluded with a serving of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, offering attendees a taste of Sri Lanka’s rich culinary heritage.
