The delegations of Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates met in Colombo from 27 to 29 January 2025 to resume discussions to finalize the proposed Agreement on Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments between Sri Lanka and the UAE. Discussions were held in a friendly, cooperative and constructive manner, reaching agreement on the text of the proposed agreement.
Delegations of Sri Lanka and the UAE were led respectively by Deputy Legal Advisor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Tilani Silva and Economic Expert of the Ministry of Finance of the UAE Dr. Hamid Nasr Abdulqadir.
The Agreement is expected to be signed in the near future.
