Chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers (FSC), Hassan Alhwaizy received the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ameer Ajwad at the headquarters of the Federation in Riyadh on 16 January 2025.
While welcoming Ambassador Ameer Ajwad to the Kingdom, FSC Chairman appreciated the Embassy initiative to organize the visit of a Sri Lanka trade delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for B2B meetings between the private sectors of both countries. The Ambassador extended his appreciation to the opportunity provided for the Sri Lankan trade delegation of food and beverage companies to interact with their Saudi counterparts at the FSC. Moreover, the Ambassador discussed opportunities available for bilateral trade. Both sides agreed to establish a joint business council and to organize bilateral visits and forums to enhance economic relations between the two countries.
The Federation for Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry is the official federation for the 28 Saudi Chambers and acts as an umbrella for the business sector and chambers of commerce and industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It works towards representing and observing the common interests of these entities, representing them on local and international levels, and fostering their contribution to the national economic development process.
Secretary General of the FSC, Waleed H. Alorainan and the Chairman of the National Food Security Committee, Alshariff Alharthi and other FSC dignitaries were present during the meeting.
First Secretary (Trade) of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh, Tashma Vithanawasem accompanied the Ambassador.
