Sri Lanka participates in 30th Edition of TT Warsaw 2024

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Warsaw, participated as the “Partner country”, in the 30th Edition of the International Travel and Tourism Fair “TT Warsaw” held from 29 November 2024 to 01 December 2024.

The “Partner country” status enhanced Sri Lanka’s opportunity to expose itself to a wider audience for greater publicity and business interactions. The exposition is considered one of the largest and important travel and tourism exhibitions in Poland and Central Europe for promoting diverse destinations and building partnerships in the tourist industry. Sri Lanka had been participating in the exposition for several years since its inception in 1993 and this year’s participation was after a lapse of 04 years.

Sri Lanka participated in the event this year along with Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and ten prominent tour operators and travel companies, namely, Tropical Asia Tours, Jetwing Travels, Jetwing Hotels, Referber Holidays Ltd., Serendib Travel Holidays, Oriental Travels & Tours, Dilux Holidays, Ocean Gate Travels and Tours, Mazarine Surf Beach Hotel to promote and market Sri Lanka as a prominent tourist destination and showcase tourist products and services to the European market.

The Sri Lanka stand at the exposition was inaugurated at a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Poland, Priyangika Dharmasena and the renowned Polish actor, Cezary Pazura who travelled to Sri Lanka recently on a tourism promotion tour.

During the Exhibition, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau held discussions with several important travel-related entities, including the Polish Chamber of Tourism for further developing the Polish tourist market to Sri Lanka, which has currently surpassed 33,000 arrivals from Poland as of October 2024. The discussions were coordinated by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Poland.

The Sri Lanka stall showcased natural beauty, heritage and diverse tourism attractions of the country, with visual aids embossed on the walls, while a tea stand serving hot cups of Ceylon tea was set up at the stall, enticing visitors and encouraging them to explore and obtain information.

The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau was awarded a certificate and a medal for the best, most original, and professional stand in the “Trade Fair Exhibition” category.

The exhibition hosted nearly 120 exhibitors including Polish Chamber of Tourism, LOT Polish Airlines, foreign and local governmental tourist entities and many other stakeholders related to the tourism industry. The fair was attended by over 20,000 visitors.
